VP Finance & Operations: Tanya Dubey, CA, Dip IFR (ACCA, UK)
We are delighted to have Tanya Dubey to join us as our Vice-President, Finance & Operations. Out of a pool of 1,200 candidates, Tanya clearly overshadowed the rest. She comes from Caspian, an Impact fund with $100+ Mn AUM, where she managed the entire lifecycle of the fund’s finance, compliance and administration functions.
Her fund finance experience, meticulous eye for detail, and conscientious nature makes her a critical backbone of our fund and finance infrastructure. She brings deep experience across fund finance and operations including full fund lifecycle experience from investment to exits, managing financial due diligence of target companies, accounting, regulatory compliances, tax and financial reporting.
Prior to Caspian, Tanya was a financial analyst at Qualcomm. She is a Chartered Accountant by professsion and also holds Diploma in IFRS from Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
Behind the sunny personality, also lies a sharp, curious mind. In her free time, Tanya loves digging deeper into the power of the subconscious mind and human potentiality. Her favourite book is The Secret by Rhonda Bryne.

Investment Associate: Sadiq Merchant
3,000 profiles, hundreds of conversations, rigorous interviews, multiple case study rounds later, we are very happy to announce our newest Investment Associate at Lumikai. He is a former esports player who represented his college in CS: GO and DOTA tournaments, lover of all games Supercell and a big esports and streaming fan turned VC. His original thinking, analytical mind and insightful perspectives on India’s gaming sector and thesis areas are among the best in the market. Sadiq has a deep bench of experience combining relevant early stage VC experience, strong qualitative, financial analysis skill set combined with a deep passion for gaming and esports.
Before Lumikai, Sadiq worked for an early stage micro VC fund as a Business Analyst for 2 years. He was responsible for evaluating early stage deals, assisting in deal flow management, fundraising and investor relations. Prior to that, Sadiq was a Financial Analyst at TresVista within their Private Equity team where he worked with multiple PE firms across the US. Sadiq graduated as an Engineer with a B.Tech degree in Computer Science from VIT University, Vellore.
He is the perfect combination of gaming DNA + early stage VC curiosity that we were looking for, and we’re excited to have him start on his journey with Lumikai. If you want to geek out on FPS and MOBA game mechanics, this is the guy to talk to. If Sadiq wasn’t a VC he would have been a pro esports player!
Independent Investment Committee Member: Asher Siddiqui
Asher has been a trusted advisor since the start of Lumikai’s journey. He has ~20+ years of management, investment & board level experience and currently involved with several VC & PE funds, as part of the Advisory Board and/or IC, including: Race Capital, Merus Capital, Sukna Ventures (regional VC fund and studio) and former advisor to Abu Dhabi Financial Group ($6B funds under AUM).
Asher was also previously part of the global leadership team at 500 Startups, as Managing Partner & member of the Global Investment Committee for Funds I to IV. He developed the investment thesis for 500 Startups flagship $100m mid-to-growth stage Opportunity Fund and managed a growing portfolio, as the key relationship PoC, with: Trusted Insight, Atoms, UrbanLogiq, VCV, Gridcure, and ProcureNow.
Prior to 500, Asher was Group Vice President and Global Head of M&A and Venture Capital at Etisalat Group, where he led over 36 advanced stage TMT deals valued at approximately ~$34bn and closed 20+ deals (9+ M&A transactions and 12+ VC deals) valued at ~$8bn.
Asher is also working with the Stanford Center for Sustainable Development & Global Competitiveness on conducting research on innovation ecosystems and corporate innovation, is a guest lecturer at Stanford University’s Idea to Market (I2M) program, and an active mentor & coach to several startups and emerging fund managers in Silicon Valley, Europe and the Middle East.
Asher’s vast experience and insights are absolutely invaluable and we can’t be more excited to have him alongside us.
